Professional
Let’s get the professional introduction out of the way
I attended San Diego State University, where I earned my bachelor's degree in social work. I then received my Master's in Social Work and Pupil Personnel Services Credential at the University of Southern California. My career began as a clinician in Skid Row, Los Angeles, CA, where I worked with individuals ranging from 2 years old to adulthood. Subsequently, I spent nearly 9 years at a mental health agency in Long Beach, CA, working with foster care youth and the probation population. I later transitioned into school social work, serving high school students for 3 years in Temecula, CA.

Graduated from SDSU 2010 and USC 2012
Journey
My journey to mental healthcare
My personality has always positioned me as a peacemaker and mediator, creating bridges between opposites. I have always been drawn to helping others during difficult times, naturally attracting people to open up to me. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in helping others, but it wasn’t until my older sister guided me that I discovered my path in mental health. Since then, I have never looked back. Witnessing my clients overcome significant challenges brings me immense joy. Whether I am a brief part of someone’s journey or planting a seed toward their healing process, it reassures me that this is my true passion.
Approach
My approach
My therapeutic approach varies based on the unique needs of my clients. I am certified and primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This method helps my clients and me understand how thoughts, emotions, and actions influence self-awareness, moderate thinking, and rationally address behaviors and thought processes.
Focus
My focus
With over 10 years of experience, I have found that my skills as a therapist shine when working with high school-aged youth and young adults dealing with:

-
Depression
-
Anxiety
-
Ptsd
-
Life transitions
-
Social pressures
-
Trauma
-
Grief
Additionally, I easily connect with adults to help them navigate:

-
Life transitions
-
Relational problems
-
Depression
-
Women's issues
-
General stress
-
Grief
-
Parenthood
-
Trauma
-
Anxiety
I facilitate my clients to build enough skills to increase confidence and have a better understanding of their ability to get through tough situations in their lives.
Communication
My Communication Style
My communication style is calm, understanding, non-judgmental, and personable. It is very important to me that my clients feel comfortable talking to me to build a positive rapport. I understand how difficult it can be for clients to open up, and I pride myself on creating a safe space where they feel heard and accepted.
Goals
My Goals for You
In goal setting, I will explore what you want to accomplish during our time together and how you want me to assist you. Together, we will create a goal. I always explain to my clients that my approach to treatment is that you, the client, carry the map, and I am simply the driver that gets you to your destination. Therefore, I can guide you to where you want to be in your life by setting specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely goals that work best for you to move forward.
First Session
My First Session with You
The first session is unique compared to the rest of the treatment sessions. During this initial meeting, my goal is to get to know you and understand your current emotional state. I will ask many questions to better grasp what has impacted your emotional well-being. This session is crucial for building a connection with you and helps us (you and me) determine where we should start.
